BSc (Hons) Computing

Computing specialists are in high demand as technology now plays a role in almost everything we do. Our computing degree combines the core principles of the field with a forward-looking approach to embracing and driving new developments.

Students will:

  1. be prepared for a career in an exciting industry with highly sought-after skills in computer programming, database development, networking, website development and information systems design
  2. develop practical skills useful in any field of business, such as problem-solving, teamwork, project management and how to use information technology effectively and understanding specialised software
  3. gain practical experience through work placements and working on real-life projects
  • The ability to read and use appropriate literature with a full and critical understanding of the ability to think independently and solve problems
  • Applying subject knowledge and understanding to address familiar and unfamiliar problems
  • Recognizing the moral and ethical issues of business practice and research; appreciating the need for ethical standards and professional codes of conduct
  • An appreciation of the interdisciplinary nature of business and service provision
  • Capacity to give a clear and accurate account of a subject, in a mature way and engage in debate and dialogue both with specialists and non-specialists.
  • To develop transferable skills and knowledge which will enable individuals to meet changing
  • To motivate individuals to progress to further professional development through future study or as part of their chosen career.

What will the students receive on graduation

All successful graduates will receive on completion of the BSc (Hons) Computing degree:
a) Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology from Qualifi, UK – Ofqual approved
b) BSc (Hons) Computing degree from North Wales Business School, Glyndwr University, UK which is approved by the QAA, UK

What will be the student receive on graduation
